Big job breaking out!!!
Great Job! I think black horn would be the ticket with that pitted blade. I have Woltonholm in black horn and the little pitting ads caracter to the blade. They complement each other, IMO. Good luck, Double O

Big job breaking out!!!
Sounds like a plan double o!!! Do you think the old fashioned style rounded ended horn scales or some more 'squared off' to match the end of the blade?? Ie...

I think il mirror the point of the blade in the scales and maybe slightly square off the pivot end. Il see if I've got some ox bone from some old scales to use as a wedge too as contrast to the black horn.

Big job breaking out!!!
Well I finished making scales last night and fitted them using nickel pins and washers. The scales are dark buffalo horn with an ox bone spacer. I used The spacer instead of a wedge because I managed to shape the horn as I sanded them down from 5mm thick blanks so I could put a slight bow in them. I made the scales thin and sleek as I thought they would go better with the French blade as opposed to larger bulky ones. I'm happy with it! What do you think??!

Excellent save on that one. Turned out beautifully and I love the scales. The narrow look goes really well with the blade. As for how it looked before hand I wouldn't even think it would be salvageable. Glad I was wrong.

Big job breaking out!!!
Outstanding! From the dead, to the living! Looks very sleek and it has the same character as my Whostonholm. I hope it becomes a good shaver for you. Double O

looks really nice to me. I like the choice of scale shape.
