Thread: Big job breaking out!!!

Well, after a good few hours of sanding, from 40 grit believe it or not, progressed up to 2500 and then a good buff with autosol and mothers mag here's how she turned out. It's far from perfect, I didn't manage to remove ALL the pitting, especially around the tang just because of the sheer amount of metal I would have to remove. I'm happy with it so far, and have checked the edge out under my loupe and to my astonishment it looks fine, it's not chipped or pitted at all. Can't beleive my luck!!! My next job is to make some scales for it as the originals were completely goosed as you can imagine. Can't decide on the material or style of scales yet? Any ideas?? What do you think so far? Any advice would be great, thanks!!!
