I had something very unfortunate happen to me yesterday when I checked on some razors I have stored in a watertight box. In my old apartment we had a humidity issue, and I didn't realize it had hosed a handful of my razors (including my NOS DD GE) with rust/patina. So, long story short don't use walnut oil on your blades. It dries hard like a SOB and pulled that gold wash right off in places.
