Hey y'all. I see some of you guys have missed me while I was away...LOL Work has been killing me lately and I have been saving up to move to Austin Texas to be closer to my surrogate fathers Wullie and Sharptonn but I just snagged this about an hour ago in the good ole Cheetah Meat "last second fashion".
I have to say I am really impressed with the look of this razor. This razor screams classy. I love the lines. Of course i don't have it in hand yet but returning that so called 10/8s W&B paved the way for this purchase which looks well worth the price paid. I don't know the width of the blade but it def looks closer to an 8/8 (I hope!). I don't think I've seen this "look" before where the tang is really this thick. This, I think, would be called a frameback and i think there is some "shoulder action" happening. Someone feel free to chime in. I'm really excited though. By the looks of the tail it's not the oldest razor in the box but I think it will clean up well.
Thanks
Cheetah

Thanked: 1587That looks like a nice blade. I wouldn't call that a frameback - it has been ground that way, and I consider a frameback to be one with a separate blade piece. Maybe it is what they call a faux frameback, but I just call it a wedge with a hone-friendly spine grind.
Anyway, I think that will clean up well, and be a good shaver. Elliots usually are.

Post the weight of that razor once you get it cause I am interested. Looks like it would weigh quite abit. The thickness of that tang is massive looking. It should defiantly clean up.

Thanked: 247I thought that razor looked awesome in the pics. But it was out of my ballpark at the starting bid. I watched it for awhile, but when it didn't get interesting, I dropped it from the watchlist. lol. Can't wait to see it when it's done!

So this is the 2nd time in about 2 weeks that I've been HAD...and this is the 2nd time that I've bought a razor that has been genetically "modified". I love this razor of course but one day I will get it through my thick skull that razors back then NEVER had this gently sloping shape from the heel edge of the blade to the tang.
Research more before you purchase. Learn from my mistakes. I'm so *&^%$# pissed for doing this again. I still love it though
It's supposed to look like this..of course in freakin' hind sight

I was on this one too but didn't want to go that high. It is either a faux frameback or a concave. I've seen some J Elliot Barbers use but not in this shape. I was also suspicious of bidding because this exact same razor was sold on ebay a couple weeks ago from New England and then turned up in this auction. I asked and she said she was selling it for a friend. Hopefully no probs with it. Nice score, that's a sweet razor.
