Joseph Rodgers & Sons, 6/8
Hi guys,
Here's my my recently acquired Joseph Rodgers & Sons, 6/8, ¾ hollow, Frosted Blue acrylic scales tapered with a genuine ivory wedge.
I got it from our Maximilian and again he did a terrific restoration and finish with the scales.
Earlier, I had already admired the clear see-through scales on one of Max’s other razors.
And when this one came along, it was around my birthday, I got it!
The unnecessary buys are the nicest, most of the times, this one too!
Thanks,
Paul

From one Paul to another,
This post of yours, kind of gave me a push towards buying one of Max's restores.
And wow, not only does he do a fantastic job at making them look beautiful, the shaving edge is amazing.
I've been using a Dovo for the past 7 months and recently bought an old Boker that was shave ready. ( managed to cut my left check in two places with it )
But, I'm a amazed how effortlessly it was to shave with the new acquisition from 'MAX', it was so quick and so smooth. ( 20mins total )
All i did was wet my face with cold water, used some Faulding Shave Cream, made a lather on my face. ( didn't strop )
I did WTG and XTG, didn't really think i needed the 2nd pass either, it was more for anything i may a have missed.
And i keep stopping as i write this to feel how smooth my face is
If there is one thing i could tell anyone new to Straights, it would be get it professionally honed.
I now know that my other two straights are not as sharp as i thought, even though i can shave with them.
Cheers,
Paul
