    Nope, I thought it might be from the ebay pics, but now that I have it in hand, it's definitely celluloid.

    Thank you sir! I'm going to start sanding on it this weekend and derustify and unpit it and get it all pretty. Then polish the scales up to a nice luster.

    Finally got it all sanded as smooth as possible and polished up today. It had slightly worse pitting than I expected, from that black speckled rust that I hate.

    I started by sandblasting every speck of rust or pitted metal thoroughly clean, then hand sanded fron 320 through 3k. Finished it by hand polishing it with my handpiece and diamond paste. I'll probably have to wait until the day after Christmas to hone it up though.

    But it's looking good!
