Default My big ebay lot. Still lots of unknows.

Since I'm hooked on straight razor shaving my jaw dropped open when I saw this big lot on ebay. I forced myself not to place a bid but it still was so tempting. On the Belgian ebay you don't see much of these. Everytime I opened my computer this lot was calling me forcing me to place a bid.

It is a big lot and I hope It is worth the money invested.Tell me my friends what do you see?

    I see:

    1 (maybe 2 coticules)
    Straights ofcourse
    Lots of paddle strops
    Hanging strops
    DE razors and blades
    soap
    brushes
    mugs

These are all quite obvious but do you guys maybe reconize some brands? Maybe an ID on the straights or DE razors.

I think I also see a large block of alum. Would something like that be safe to use? I mean with blood diseases and all.

Any pathogens on those blades are long gone, but you could disinfect with a 10-15 second dip in alcohol. Be sure to oil them afterwards though. I use mineral oil personally, but any gun oil will work fine too. Nice score my friend from afar.

Thank you. I will clean the razors before use. Will the alum blocks still be usable? How do you desinfect those?

Rinse them with water and use them,Alum is an all natural anti-bacterial,cannot grow anything on them.

You Done Good! The little white hone on the board is probably a Welsh/English stone and they can be all over the place as to grit. I have one that is about 8K, Nice one if yours is! The mottled one on the board appears to be an American Soft Arkansas and would be 600-1500 Grit. Good as a bevel setter with oil.
    Congratulations!

Thank you Richard. Now I'm even more excited to get the lot as soon as possible. I thought the little hone on the board was a coticule. I guess I'll just have to wait until I get it in my hands and see it up close. I also want to test out that open comb slant.
