6/8+ Mappin Brothers Lancet Edge Razor
Heres what JimmyHAD had to say about his:
A Mappin Brothers 'Lancet' is the first up. Mappin Brothers eventually became Mappin & Webb. This razor looks like a frameback from the side but is actually forged in one piece. A bit of hone wear but no chipping on the edge thankfully. Honed up nicely and shaves well. Has registered 1848 stamped on the blade along with the Mappin Brothers, Sheffield logo.
Heres what the one in the classified says:
The rarest of the rare, the greatest of the great, the legendary Lancet Edge Razor by the esteemed Mappin Brothers of Sheffield.
So essentially, what you have here is what has been described as "the greatest production razor ever" rescaled and then honed by the greatest masters of our time.
Why am I selling this masterpiece? Well, because now I've tried it, and I want to try something else.
You know you've always wanted to shave with a Lancet Edge. This may be the only chance you ever get.
Here's what Ebay says:

Here's what Sharptonn will say:
What the hell are you doing! *exhale* (drinks more scotch and cries while honing)
Here's what Wullie will say:
Well at least it's not another huge Masonic Blade *exhale* (drinks more scotch and hugs his 9/8s Masonic Razor)
Here's what other member will say:
That etching looks fake. He's driving the prices up. He doesn't really have fur.
Here's what I want mine to look like when I'm done with it:
Joseph Mappin Restoration
Oh and that is not my hand by the way
Thanks

Nice. I had thought about picking the one up off the classifieds but I chose a different blade.
Shaving with facial hair is like a golfcourse. It's a challenge of rough and fairways. You are the skilled greenskeeper of your face?

No tears, no scotch, no hones, but what the hell are you doing, cheetah? Yep. That one's pitty and the blade etching is gone. Musta been really rusted at some point. The end seems to protrude more than most. At the price paid, it IS a Lancet Edge! Shave with it, Cheetah! Let me know how it performs!
Here's mine, About to go into some Ivory scales!
"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

I was looking at the pix and wondering if that razor was designed as a shaver and a blood letting tool ? Seriously. The end looks like a Fleam.

I am a wedge person and one popped up in decent shape. I like Mappins but I wasn't sure how I would like the Lancet compared to my Sun Razor. Also the one listed is $800 ish. I am not that rich.
