When the shave is done and you're cleaning up bring the top up and tilt it away from the bottom to where you can rinse and clean efficiently ?
Thanks for the welcome, glad to be here. When I get a chance, I'll make a video of this thing in use and post to Youtube. I don't have a puck small enough, so I'll just whip something up and we'll see...might help ping some imagination.

    SWAG,
I bought a Japanese ceramic one which had a water dump, and a reservoir below it. I figure to:, close bottom. fill hot water, soak brush, get all really toasty hot, open bottom drain water, close bottom, add a small chip of soap and whip the snot out it to a lather with the water left in the brush. Should be plenty of lather for a three pass. Then rinse all and put it away.
    YMMV!!

Yes, even if the "sterilizer idea" would be right, that's no fun way to use it today.
As a lather cup it would be way more useful, so keep trying it in every way you can and let us know how it works.

That's pretty much how its going. Fill with hot water, soak brush, drain. Load soap, dish cream, whip the snot out of it, 3-pass, rinse and let dry. Works pretty well.
