Now I see why you wanted a really good hone to go with them!
You got some superb blades there, please don't do any honing practice on them.
I understand you want to learn quickly how to hone them so get some cheap practice blades,
preferably the same grind as your TIs, a good normal hone, like a Norton 4/8 and start practice...
If your TIs are not shave ready (new razors seldom are), send them out to someone for sharpening.
Wish I could afford to get some new razors and a brush like that... take good care of them!Last edited by Lemur; 01-23-2013 at 02:51 AM.

Well I just saw your post in the Karasu Jnat thread, looks like you have everything under control.
Don't worry, some day I'll drag you over to the dark side of Jnats...

Yeah I'm in the process of picking up some cheap razors on ebay to practice with, definately won't be going anywhere near the TI's with a hone for some time. When my skills progress we will have to talk jnats and have you help me pick one up.

Thanked: 10I have been circling around the TI's for awhile but have so many vintage blades in my rotation that can be had for cheaper, haven't been able to justify spending more for a new one but they are definitely gorgeous. Let us know how the shaving works out once they are up and running. Nice Razors!

Sweet blades! Must have been your birthday or something to get yourself such a gift. You should complete the trio and get the Oak Wing G! The maple wood is just magnificent on it.
Cheers.

I really enjoy them, im also a bodybuilder so they take the hair off very well on other places besides my face. I just leaned in a little too tight on my thigh and good thing I have my proraso nick healer haha. I had the pins tightened on the crown wing because the scales are so light compared to the silver rams horn. I have the oak wing, an amboss mann , and hopefully a 3rd on the way im bidding on the bay headed my way so I will have to post my 5 day shave set soon after that I need to stop buying razors and make my car payments, haha.
