Re: Absolutely mint 11/16 Shumate Barber
Lol, I'll be shaving with it tonight. I've got three days growth just waiting on it. I knew it was coming this week, so I wanted to be ready!

Thanked: 480Gotta say, I AM a bit jealous over that razor. And I bet a dollar against a donut that it needs nothing more than 5 strokes on teh barbers stone to be right as rain!

Re: Absolutely mint 11/16 Shumate Barber
Shaved with it. It's not quite as smooth as I'd like it to be. No pulling, but just not as smooth or effortless as I know it can be. Really close two pass shave though.
I think I'm going to give it a few laps on the barber hone and re strop it and try again. It'll get where I want it. I'm just glad to have it to work with. When the Dude is recognized in the world, unDudeness will be seen everywhere--- the Dude de Ching

Thanked: 1072Well done, I would have shaved with it straight out of the box too. Its cool to be able to say you did it, even if its not the best shave ever.
I did just that with a razor that belonged to my Grandfather. It sat in its box for decades in near mint condition.
Took it out, washed it, stropped it and shaved with it. It was a nice feeling, pretty decent shave too.

Thanked: 4249Very cool find! I have the same razor , fantastic shaver but you know that allready! Surely deserves a spot in the Shumate shaving society.
A good pic or the paper work would be nice as well in the razor club! Enjoy!

I'll get a good pic of the paperwork, good idea. I wish I had a good camera so I could take a decent picture of the blade.

That's a great score, I just picked up a Henckels Friodur NOS, I just stropped the razor straight out of the box, and the shave was really nice and smooth.
