    Default Finally got a " Monkey Tail" De Pew Razor

    I got this in the mail today!! Thanks to a great member here, Walt. He saw my add in the wanted section. I got the razor cleaned, polished, and honed. I'll be trying it out tonight!!! Thanks again Walt!! Name:  IMG_0111[1].jpg

    I really enjoy mine. It's "slightly" modified though...lol...I found stropping it difficult due to the longer tang and I like to rescale

    They started manufacturing in the late 1800's I believe. I'm sure someone else could give a better estimate on it though.

    Hard razor to get a good edge on, but fun to shave with once you do.

    Cool razor, now that you have the DePews keep an eye peeled on the bay for the similar model by Joseph Rodgers & Sons. I don't know who had it first but they made one that is not exactly the same but also has the long monkey tail. They come up once in a great while.
