I saw that one but can't find anything close to this one.
The edge is in excellent condition, think it will do fine with some stropping only!Hur Svenska stålet biter kom låt oss pröfva på.

Thanked: 3223Now that is a neat idea. It would make storing razors so much more convenient.

The stamp looks identical to this one;
I found it on site, here; http://straightrazorpalace.com/razor...shavers-6.htmlHur Svenska stålet biter kom låt oss pröfva på.

Nah, I don't think so.
On his (pz93c) razor there is a slight difference in the spacing of the letters in "JOHN",
to me the "O" and "H" looks closer together than the "H" and "N".
If so it's probably exactly the same.
I have to send him a PM and see if I can get a better picture.Hur Svenska stålet biter kom låt oss pröfva på.

Okay, yeah, I see what you mean. When I first looked at the picture of yours, it looked like the 'JOHN BARBER' part was slightly italic. Now I'm really not sure.
Here's a detailed picture of the John Barber I got from ScienceGuy. The name and the logo are separated, but look like they're struck from the same die

I didn't know you could get the pics bigger, thanks!
Yes, they look to be the same die!
Yours is much more shiny than mine, hmm... but I think I will do as little as possible with mine.
It would only look strange to have it all new looking with an old fix on the scales.Hur Svenska stålet biter kom låt oss pröfva på.

Is it 1 piece, or is the eye forged /brazed on?
From the pics it is not entirely clear.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.

I can't take any good pics, sorry!
Some rust in the tang area where it's riveted to the scales, cleaning it off right now.
No brazing and no apparent forged joint either but i need to clean it more to see for sure.
It now looks like they punched/drilled a hole in the tang and then forged out the ring.
The rings profile and dimensions is exactly like an old scissor.Last edited by Lemur; 04-11-2013 at 05:57 PM.

Another Barber ring tail coming from Spain. Unfortunately it has been regrinded, and the horn handle is not original (the two scales are slightly different). But it's definitely a unique piece and not a later modification.
And a scissor with the Barber punch.
Maybe I will end it like that
