I don't know what you have invested in it, but the frameback you just posted is a nice one.
If the 3rd party is happy with the one he got, then I would just keep this one.
It was meant to find you.

Yes indeed, something tells me it was meant to find me. I wonder if the 3rd party will share my thoughts.

I like the look of the frame backs, they are definitely different to shave with, quite rigid. I would give it a go, you may be surprised.

I would also assume the seller is responsible for shipping costs in this particular case. But your best bet will be to talk to Ebay and find out.

I bought a small expensive tool once on eBay. the seller had 2 similar but different brands. I bought the second tier brand, the seller shipped me the better one. rather than pay shipping for both units two more times, he opted to refund the buyer of the other unit and I kept what I received. considering that the seller was selling them for more than he paid for them, he may still have been ahead.

Possession is nine tenths of the law. If you wanted to keep it France is a long way away. OTOH, the right thing to do would be to find out what the seller wants to do. He is absolutely responsible for the shipping from here on out. If it were me, and I wanted to keep the frameback, I would tell him that I would be willing to pay the $20.00 difference to save him the trouble/cost. That would leave it to him to work it out with the other buyer.
