Pix's in threads
Can you stop people from putting full size pictures in the threads. I always have to go to the bottom to use the scroll bae to more over so I can read the whole message whenever a person puts in a full stupid picture of their razor. Personally I rarely care what other peoples razors look like but if I want to see it a little pop up at the bottom of the message works fine.

Thanked: 346You can turn off display of these inline pictures in your User CP settings. I've got them turned off and these inline photos show up a links instead.
Edit: User CP/Options/Thread Display Options/Show Inline Images - it's a checkbox. You can also turn off signatures (also highly recommended), and avatars (also highly recommended depending on Joe C's current avatar)

No problem about the rant... I feel the same way. This is all complicated by the fact that some people have their monitors set to 800x600 resolution, some to 1024x768, still others use 1280x768, and others even higher. And it's even more confused when you consider that PCs and Macs expect different DPIs (96 vs 72). So a displayed picture that's "way too big" for someone running 800x600 may only fill 2/3 of the screen when viewing at 1600x1200. You can find more than you wanted to know about resolutions on [Wikipedia]... it says...
"The 640×480 resolution, introduced with the IBM PS/2 VGA and MCGA (multi-color) on-board graphics chips, was the standard resolution in the IBM PC compatibles from 1990 to around 1996, partly due to its 4:3 ratio. 800×600 was the standard resolution until around 2000. Since then, 1024×768 has been the standard resolution. Many web sites and multimedia products are designed for this resolution."I kinda disagree with the date ranges given... I think the move to 800X600 occurred a little earlier, but there's no denying that 1024x768 has been the mainstay for the past 6-8 years. So, I encourage everyone to change their settings to at least 1024x768. (If things are too small at that size you need to consider buying a larger monitor the next time you see a good sale and can afford to do so. )

Yes, everybody go out and get a 1024x768 monitor. You will make my job much much easier. I look forward to the day that 800x600 is phased out. We're getting close though.

We just got a 1280 x 1024 flat screen and I can't tell how much easier it is to work on than my old 800 x 600. It's almost as big as my TV so sometimes my wife and I cuddle around the computer screen to watch a DVD.

X... glad you're enjoying your new monitor. A larger monitor really makes a difference I think... browsing is much more relaxing... no more squinting, eye strain, etc.
The latest browser statistics (Jan 2007) released by w3schools.com show that only 14% of users are still running at 800x600... 54% are running 1024x768... and 26% at 1280 or greater. (That same report, by the way, shows IE has 58% market share for browsers, Foxfire/Mozilla 32.5%, Safari 1.7% and Opera 1.5%.)
