I don't see them on this site but they have the same type of ads on other sites. And yes, I hate them too. Even my email at yahoo had it. I clicked on what looked like the first in the list of email and it turned out to be an ad inserted into the email. Didn't even have the decency to be old-fashioned spam!

I get those ads on firefox. I'm going to try to see if I can get rid of them. I just installed firefox and imported my bookmarks from Internet Explorer so it might be embedded from there.

I don't have them, loving my Ad Blocker Plus that is specifically made to remove only annoying ads. As a webdesigner, though, I am hugely frustrated by "colleagues" that use this sort of trickery, which I see on many websites.

    Here's what happens:
    1. You click the red arrow to the right of the ads in Internet Explorer and bigger ads appear to the right:
    Name: dealfinder.jpg
Views: 111
Size: 69.0 KB
    2. In the upper right-hand corner of the bigger ad it says, "What is this?" When you click What is this?, you get the option to opt out of future ads if you Click here.
    Name: dealfinder2.jpg
Views: 101
Size: 71.3 KB
    3. Firefox doesn't put up the ads in the first place.
Internet Explorer (with the ad blocker) eliminates future ads of this type.
Google Chrome continues to show the ads even if you opt out.

What a pain in the rear!

I don't think this comes from SRP, but something is injecting the ad display code in there. I would scan your computer for viruses and other malware.

If it's a problem with SRP there's gotta be more people seeing an ad in that location, there is significant percentage of people who use internet explorer when they come to srp.

Rereading this thread i noticed the mention of superfish - looked it up and it's an extension to the browser and the 'price comparison tool' that you are seeing is part of it.
You may have picked it up included with another extension you have installed (saw a mention for tabs plus that includes it).

The bottom line is, this is something that you installed on your computer and you have to remove it. Look at your browser extensions, disable/remove them, one by one until you find the one responsible.

It's a sneaky bit of bloatware, installed yontoo recently by any chance? As gugi mentioned above look at your browser extensions, it's a sneaky one this and hides itself under the name Windows shopper. Getting rid of the extension is not enough though you also need to remove this from add/remove programs.

Any problems with this pm me and I'll give full instructions

Yes, you often get little "additions" when you install something else and you have to opt out of the "extra" rather than opt in.

One that immediately springs to mind is Oracle's Java update that includes something called the "Ask toolbar". From what Gugi said it sounds like perhaps a similar issue has arisen here.
