That's where it gets complicated, the English being shared 'round the world and all the "local color" creeping in.
I don't know if that fellow (the sports fan) above is the root of the evil, but "moran" is the snarky way of making reference to "morons" these days. It'll either pass, or become another fixture of our dynamically confusing language.
I blame "extra cheese".
