I have two scroll bars in my WinXP IE7, but not in Firefox....

....so, evidently, anyone using that POS IE7 is SOL!

That might seem to fix it, but that's not the problem because when you click Community/forums from the main screen it takes you to www.straightrazorplace.com/forums... so either way your're going to the same place. And with my copy of IE7 I don't get a double scroll bar no matter what options I try that might affect it. What version of IE7 are you running? Do you have any add-ons installed?

OK, granted, I'm an idiot...and I don't think that would surprise anyone....but could it have to do with monitor size/settings? I never seem to have the scroll bars on my laptop, which has a wide screen monitor.

That was my first guess too, but I played with various screen settings yesterday and could never get the second scroll bar to appear. Admittedly I gave up pretty quickly since there are n! variations to try and n is substantial. It also could be an older version of IE7 or a javascript thing.

Paul, if all your PCs perform the same, is it possible they all have the same software and settings... maybe all installed by the same person... so the same issue is in all of them?

very possible at home (self installs) but I work for hp and pc setup is automated so it would be unusual if I repeated some same error at home.
It looks to me like if I open new posts from srp.com it responds by opening forums in a frame. Could this be an option I have chosen in IE7?

    Paul,

Ok... that's the key... clicking "new posts" in the login form area of the main site page. I missed that in my attempt to recreate the problem (I almost never use that access although it's a good one... I just never developed the habit of using it).

It indeed loads the forum in a frame and from that point forward in the session the forum functions inside that frame.

When David changed the Community/Forums menu call to load the forum in a window rather than in a frame he missed updating this area. When one of us gets a chance we'll take care of it.

Until we change it, you can avoid this problem by loading the forum either directly ( www.straightrazorplace.com/forums/ ) or by using the main site's menu "Community/Forums". Eitherway, once the forum is loaded you can click "New Posts" on the forum's navbar (or whatever other action you desire).
