    How would the counter aportion the derailment? Obviously you cant really derail a thread on your own, it needs to be a team effort, so you would need to only give a fraction to each of the derailers, but the first post would need more weighting on the basis of originaliity, then you might get a subsequent post that opened up more avenues for continued and sustained derailment so that should be worth a bit too, you will obviously get the "hangers-on" who dont really advance the derailment but are not posting about the original subject ofg the thread.
    Then should points be deducted for premature derailment, it is a bit rude to derail a healthy thread that has not been fully explored.

    You Gents give me way too much credit. Thread derailment happens in the most effective way as the thread is pretty much done.
    THEN, it's open-season. It's been a long, hot summer here. The forum shall pick up soon, I predict.
