I only use a 12mp point and shoot cheapo. Get a tripod or some way to hold the camera steady and then use the timing function of the shutter to take the photo after your hand is away from the camera. Light source is important. and use it to your advantage.

Just as I thought. I guess it comes down to two things the quality of your kit, and the ambition of your process. Upon reflection Ive determined that what I have, and how I'm doing it is quite sufficient.
