Depends on timing, and if so, yes.

For me, this came at a rather awkward time! A few more Hoosiers have joined in the last few months, and I was trying to establish some sort of network & plant the seed of get togethers. One had just applied for "Hoosier Wet Shavers", and so I dropped a message to ask if those with the authority could look into the pending members. I was hoping to reinvigorate the group of shavers that have easy access to "The Crossroads of America".

I'm certainly not saying TPTB made the wrong decision. The groups, in my short tenure, haven't made an impact on me either. It just throws up a yellow flag for me, when a whole segment (albeit, underutilized) evaporates without so much as an "FYI" post from the staff . Ya know what I mean?
Yeah, I turned them off earlier in the week, or may be it was last week as they have been very inactive for quite some time.
I certainly can turn them back on if people have any use for them, but it seems that virtually everybody prefers to use forum threads.
There's one more feature I turned off at the same time, and so far nobody has noticed its absence.

In any case I didn't think it's a big deal because they appeared dead anyways, so I didn't see a need for public announcement either. And as I said, if needed I can reenable them.

Good decision, Gugi. I truly don't think they were missed. No need in using time and space for it.

One thing I do miss is the little 'top' button on the last post of a thread instead of having to scroll all the way to the bottom to get to that one. It's been gone for a good while!

At the last post of a thread, just click on "First" to go back to to the original post, is that what you mean?

No, seems there was a 'top' button there before. It took you to the top of the age you were on instead of back to the first page. Worked like the one way at the bottom, but was more convenient.

    Not a big deal, however!
