How many years away do we intend this calendar to be? It sounds like it could be excessively complicated having 12 votes especially as SOTD is done by week not month and would therefore not be easy to divide neatly.
If zazzle is heavily customisable why not have a template calendar and a selection of say 48 pictures that people could put in in any order they want (obviously only 12 of them). Have the SRP logo on the front and whatever on the back.

Unless one of the guys putting forth the suggestions for competitions and votes etc wants to administer it (for an entire year) and organize the actual doing in a timely manner.

I just had a quick squizz at the SOTD forum and each week seems to get an average of around 175 replies (crude maths, replies ranged from 154 to 206 with most around 170 on the page I looked at). I realize that probably 50+% will be comments on pictures but even if we were very conservative and said 25% that is a shortlist of 188 pics per month, assuming that say 20 people vote each month the chances of getting a consensus are pretty slim at best I would expect maybe 2 votes for the same picture. And who is going to extract just the photos and put them in a specific voting thread which would have to be closed to comments and the poll would need to be able to accept 188 different lines. Also I think that trawling through 188 pictures (every month) would get quote tedious and probably would result in pictures from the 1st or 2nd pages getting the majority of the votes.
