Thanked: 98Active ads and posting forsale, want, trade, get active members, make it great again.
After looking in the classifieds, it is evident that there needs to be More Use of the classifieds whole section, the more we all use it the better resource it is/will become.
Cheers all.

Thanked: 480I have both bought and sold through the classifieds, as well as "the bay"
What I noticed were many razors being sold in both locations. Often for the same price. Why would I buy through the classifieds when Ebay provides buyer protection?
I also noticed a profound lack of truly cheap razors. I don't consider 80 bucks to be a cheapy.
I think people are more inclined to the bay because the chances of a blade selling for more money than we think its worth are a lot better than they are where the educated shop.
In short, I don't think the rule change will generate as much interest as you are hoping for. Guess time will tell.
Oh, and I am TOTALLY FOR improving the rating system. I think I have a feedback rating of 1? because most people simply cant figure out how to leave the feedback!

Thanked: 3795I have seen a lot of razors in the classifieds in the range of $35 to $65. Given that these razors are sold by people who know how to hone, as opposed to ebay flippers who don't even understand the term, the razors in the classifieds are a better deal.
Regarding buyer protection, in my opinion you have more here. Maybe that point has not been made sufficiently clear, but if a buyer here is not happy with his purchase he can contact the seller who will be obliged to make it right. If he does not, then a moderator can get involved.

I check the classified section of this forum at least "4" times a day, at various times. I have never sold in the classified section, but I buy often.
There is a steady flow of razors for sale in the classified section in the $40.00 to $60.00 range. These are great vintage razors that come honed & provided by members of SRP in great standing. If all you are seeing are $80.00 + razors, then there are reasons for that;
1. The turnaround is fast, $40.00 vintage razors in the classified section sell within a few hours at the most.
2. You are not checking the classified section as often as you should, if your looking for a deal.
Buyer Protection?? Mods. are availabe 24/7 on SRP,, I've seen them pull ads at a moments notice for "junk" being peddled,,, which by the way, is seldom. Ebay is flooded with problem items of all catagories.
This is your quote, "I think people are more inclined to the bay because the chances of a blade selling for more money than we think its worth are a lot better than they are where the educated shop. "
Did you even pause to think before you typed this ?? ,,,an insult. Think about it ,,,

Thanked: 480An insult? now YOU are the insulting one. Buyer protection? Do you mean to tell me the mods are going to give me my money back if something goes wrong? No, they are not. So don't even try to claim buyers are protected. I don't know the guys who have been selling razors on the cheap. Stimpy was the only guy I knew who put out great razors at great prices that I KNOW can hone. I'll admit I don't look at the classifieds often, But don't you dare impugn me for having an opinion, and a factual concern.
And people wonder why I don't post much anymore.....

PayPal provides buyer protection from razors you buy here or on the bay, so I don't worry about that. I am going to be posting some razors up for sale soon, hopefully the discussion here will result in a quick sale
