It also works the other way around. At work we sometimes end a discussion by doing an imitation of beaker to tell the other person that we're tired of listening so put a sock in it. Doing this at home in an argument with your wife, will have different results.

No it's more like we have really few expectations of people. Being more or less polite-ish and not outright insulting or belittling people will get you through almost everything. We are not doctors or therapists. We have no special programs for people with special needs. We try to take things in context but really there is the expectation of being able to talk without profanity and insults. If that is not possible, then there is no place here for that person.

Everybody is unique. And it might surprise you that among the mods there is really no concensus about anything. We don't agree with each other on many things. Some of us are right, some left. Some are pro guns, some against. Some are religious, some are atheist. Etc.

I am flattered that you would think that I have the ability to forge a dozen different individuals into a singular group of people that act and think the same. But I am not, and they don't.

I think it is a younger generation thing. They didn't grow up with the same taboos and the F word is just an interjection and/or for emphasis.

I suppose that I should point out that I was diagnosed with autism some time around 1964, before it became trendy, so for that reason I expect greater tolerance for my own personal "unique" self.
