You have put too much faith in people. Like you said "just do it" and I'm sure it will turn out all right. I'm behind you and I have your six!

If I understand correctly, there is currently no way to make a donation to the site? I just joined, but have been browsing for a while now. It is customary for me to make a donation to forums I find useful and informative.
Looks like I might have to wait a while here...

Welcome to SRP. Voluntary donations haven't been a part of SRP in the past. I don't know what this discussion will lead to. We've never went that route, so it remains to be seen. Thanks for the generous heart though. If you were to go to the beginner's forum and make an introductory post you'll get some more people meeting you here.

Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Get on the forum and learn/teach. Use the search to learn more and share.
This is what the forum needs more than money. One comes with the other, I expect!

    Hi miskaya!

Since this is your first post, I'm going to treat it like it's your first post! I know, that was deep.

Where are you located in Iowa? Do you need any one on one help? Mainaman lives in Des Moines and he can help with anything. I lived in Iowa City for 20 years but now am in Rochester MN but still consider myself an honorary Iowegian. If you ever come up my way I'd be happy to help you with whatever you need help with too, but as I've said before, Mainaman is nicer!

Thanks for the warm welcome. So much for my first post being incognito....
I am in the Des Moines area, but just getting back to using a straight razor after more than 35 years. My grandfather taught me to use one when I started shaving, but I got lazy. Time to get back to basics I guess.

    Welcome, Mishkaya!

To answer your first post, in addition to what JimmyHAD said, purchasing official "SRP Goods" (link below) helps support the site. Though SRP only gets a percentage of the proceeds, it still helps. Plus, you get shaving swag from it !
