Ok John, I’m not understanding you.

Here’s what I do and did in this case.

I open the post or video I want to link to, so I have the post/video in one window, the text I have written, in Word and SRP open to the forum, or post, I want to post to.

I copy the Word text, and paste, to the Reply to Thread window or New Post window.

I then highlight the text to be linked to, click the Link Icon, open the original post or video and copy the address from the address bar, and paste to the Hyper link window. Click preview to make sure it opens to the correct link and upload the post.

I do not use the Insert Video link. My goal is to make both links to post and or videos, Hyperlinks. Sometimes it works, sometimes not.

    Am I doing something wrong?

Wow,,, I'm reading it for the 5th time,,, give me some time here.

In the "Reply to Thread" text box that opens, when you go to post a reply to a thread, what is the goal? Is it to post an an actual video that is visible & also a hyperlink to it?

Or ,,,, due you simply want a hyperlink to the video.?

    Here, I think I see something in your explanation;

"I copy the Word text, and paste, to the Reply to Thread window or New Post window.

I then highlight the text to be linked to, click the Link Icon, open the original post or video and copy the address from the address bar, and paste to the Hyper link window. Click preview to make sure it opens to the correct link and upload the post."

When you highlight a group of words/text, then dump a hyperlink into it, you have loaded a hyperlink address onto that same sentence/line. Depending on how long the hyperlink address is & the rest of your sentence on that same line, will decide if the text box gets "widened" & distorted.

look at the front page of SRP, there are tow hyperlinks, one in the Hones & steel article & the other in the restoring the past article.
The hyperlinks are on a line of their own, no problems this way.

I'm going to bring post # 11 here in this thread & play with it, lets see if I can get the result you did.

Well Euclid, the move placed it in the opening post position, not my intention, but I will see if I can figure out where the issue is.

    Euclid,,
Look at the opening post & the hyperlink I labeled as "The Issue At Hand". Your video is there. I believe this is what you wanted in the other thread on your attempt, correct?

I did as you said that you did in post # 11 of this thread.

The only big difference is that I did not develop my text in "Word" and bring it over. That may be the problem.

When I do have a lenghty statement to post, I sometimes create in Word & cut & paste into the reply box on SRP.

    But,,,,,

I don't hyperlink any of the text from Word & I load my photos & videos on a line of their own, outside the paste from Word.

    I hope this makes sense.

I paste from Word to the Reply to Thread, and make the hyper link from the Reply to Thread box.

But if I put the highlighted text on a separate line, it will display as an underlined text hyperlink, my goal.

Got it, that explains why sometimes it works and others it does not, sometimes I do make it a separate line.

Thanks John, good to know, has bugged me for years…
