I use an iphone and the web based version without issues, not the mobile version, can add pics from my phone library as easily as from a laptop. Get email notifications of new posts or pm's which also appear on my phone, so aside from the one stop shopping for multiple forums, I still don't understand why this is an issue for anyone. Unfortunately those that don’t use Tapatalk don’t realize what a PITA this website is compared to Tapatalk. I’m constantly resizing my screen and can’t customize what I want to see when I log in like I can with the app. I belong to other forums that work well with a browser, but not this one. If this forum was powered by xenForo I wouldn’t be complaining.

For those that don't realize it Straight Razor Place is the Oldest Website Dedicated to Straight Razor Shaving and anyone who wants to 'Join' can participate for 'Free'.

It came to my attention that just the other day another website that was about straight razors is no longer in existence. Look and see what you can find about Razor and Stone. It's not there

Myself, I worry about when the day will come when Lynn no longer can financially support SRP or gets frustrated with trying to please everyone with their complaints about their personal technological needs and just says To Hell With This and shuts SRP down.

No I don't want need nor desire to use Tapatalk. I'm content to use my home computer when I wish to participate here.

Please don't get me wrong as I do sympathize with those that do depend on this 'APP' as I have good friends here that do so. But again, I worry about there not being any SRP.

I actually used Tapatalk for a few years myself, on this site included.
It worked ok, even when accessing the hidden parts of the site.

I used to serve as a mod and senior mod around here, and for that part of it, it was less effective as a tool, and had me use the website constantly anyways.

Furthermore, the design changes over the years did not always improve the usability of it.
There were sync issues constantly, software bugs in general and free/pro/iPad version confusion that had me loose my infatuation with it eventually

Nowadays I find myself using the websites more often than not, even though I'm somewhat active on a dosen forums or so.

I would have wished that it was still an option on SRP though, there's a lot of people wanting to interact with forums using tapatalk.

That and how much more battery usage I use, in comparison to Tapatalk.

I was a Tapatalk user but it wasn't really my primary method of accessing the site. The benefit for me was simply the ease of using Tapatalk when out and about, on my Android phone. Losing the app isn't going to diminish my presence here much but it does, rather annoyingly, cut into my enjoyment of certain threads. The SotD thread was my favorite way to pass a few spare minutes in my day and Tapatalk was the easiest way for me to accomplish this.

All of that said, I can relate to the mods' reasons for no longer allowing/complying with Tapatalk and I don't have any hard feelings on the matter but would welcome and actively support a resolution that would allow the community to return to using the app.

I dont know much about the workings of things like this. Now if it was mechanical, this pushes that and that turns this, I could deal with it, but these computer things are beyond me. That being said, Is there another app that does the same type of thing? Or was Tapatalk the only one that worked like it did? Will the Millions of apps I see listed that you can download theres got to be something else out there that would work and be safer, Right? Or maybe I'm blowing smoke.

Im getting used to using my android, its no different than a laptop, but Im able to send pics directly from my phone, or thru downloads files. Pretty simple to figure out....an I'm a moron when it comes to computers.
