Thread: Major Issue With 'Smilies'

Gentlemen-
I have recently noticed that, when posting my usual drivel, usually the smilies work just fine.....ie, I locate the appropriate smiley that EXACTLY expresses the emotion I am feeling at that particular instant (I'm not a very emotional guy, and my range is decidedly limited) and, due to the wonder and magic of the worldwideinterwebnet, it magically appears in my post, and I can proceed on my blissful way....



....however......there are times when the magic fades....and no matter HOW many times I click on the ginning face, it just sits there grinning at me....I sit there and click and click and mindlessly click (I've heard it said that one definition of insanity is the repetition of the same action with the expectation of different outcomes....whatever)....I've tried gently coaxing the smilie into my desired postiion, I've tried firmly, and with authority, clicking the mouse button....and I have even degenerated into working myself into a frothing tizzie, madly pounding away on the mouse button with a balled up fist and blood veins bulging in my forehead....all to no avail.

My question is simple.....






....do I need a bigger hammer?

The answer is simple lou, yes!

You might also try firefox! when I first came to SRP I was using Safari and I couldn't use the smilie function until I switched to Firefox!

...but....but.....Micro$oft didn't write Firefox.....is it LEGAL to use something that Micro$oft doesn't make like a gazilliion dollars on while using Window$ (which $uck$, I might add)????...can this BE???....Bill Gate$ left the back door open???....

EDIT: ...and PLEASE....don't get me started on my impressions of Window$....I believe it's adequately documented elsewhere on the forum!

I've got just the thing....

Try switching web browsers and see what happens!

I can 'Copy' and 'Paste' them, but, well....I'm basically a lazy guy with a short fuze and a low tolerance for frustration....sometimes, my experiences at the keyboard tend to degeneratie to, well.....this...

I think you've got gremlins Lou

Are you using the smilies over on the side, or the smilies from the drop down menu at the top? Does it make a difference?
