Thanked: 2209Photo's in PM's ... how to do it?
I recently tried to include a photo in a PM. It does not work no matter what I try.
I even tried using the URL to my Photobucket account. Then it showed only the link and not the photo.
Does anyone have a suggestion?Randolph Tuttle, a SRP Mentor for residents of Minnesota & western Wisconsin

Thanked: 603I just went to compose a PM to you, including a photo from an external website: the first time it gave nothing; the second time it included the photo. What differed between the two? The first one was from my account on Basenotes, which doesn't allow external access to user photos; the second was to my user avatar on Facebook, which has "public" permissions.
All of which is to say that the image you want to share might not be available to everyone -- check the permissions, and see.
Good luck! You can have everything, and still not have enough.
I'd give it all up, for just a little more.

Thanked: 2209Thanks Glen,
I was using the URL from the top of the Photobucket website.
After looking at the differences in the URL string between Glens and mine I realized that it had to include ".jpg". So I looked closely at the options on photobucket, there were none other than "download", so I right-clicked on the image and used "copy image address".
That worked.Last edited by randydance062449; 01-28-2022 at 11:18 AM.

I gave up on photo hosting sites just to much to keep up on.

Yeah, that's always been a limitation of vbulletin that it can't include photos in PMs and the workaround is to include links from external hosting. That's what I've done too and it's rather silly in my opinion.

Thanked: 603Here's A Workaround
- Create a post. It can be in any forum, 'cuz you'll never post it.
- Add an image to the post.
- Preview the post. Click-R on the image and "Copy image address".
- Go to Private Messages and "Send new message".
- Type your text, and then insert the image (the only option will be URL, which is the image-address you copied from the phony post)
- Preview the PM. You should see the image!
- Submit/send the PM
- Make sure you do not send the phony post.
