Thanked: 131Quick note about registering....
Hi all! Glad to finally find this community- wish I had done so AGES ago as it would have been so much help back when I was starting out.
Just a quick FYI for the admins/moderators/Lynn. I just tried to register from the link on the homepage and was unable to. Registering as you know requires typing in the security code from a picture box- which is fine. Only thing is the advert for ClassicShaving.com was shunting the rest of the page over and partially obscuring the picture box. You may be losing out on new members here.
I was able to find an alternative link to registration but thought this was an important point to bring up for you.
All the best,
Sandy

I am sure that Joe will jump in soon with an answer.
Meanwhile: welcome to this place.
In here you'll find a friendly place full of helpful people.
Edit: scotland eh? Are you into Malt whisky by any chance?Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.

Thanked: 131Hi Bruno,
Fraid not. Thats a stereotype i'm afraid. Plus i'm not as old as that stereotype either. My spirit of choice is either Glayva or a whisky liquer like Baileys
But thats besides the point. Thank you for your welcome. I joined in part because I was looking for somewhere where I could get advice on honing. I am having trouble getting a good edge on my blade. I'll check around on the forums.
Also is there any way from this site that I can easily see other members who are near me? If not, might be an idea.... some way of mapping ourselves (or those who wish to) on a global map.
Its just if I do need to get my razor sent away to be honed i'd prefer it be sent within UK than to US- purely for postage cost and customs reasons
All the best,
Sandy

Hi Sandy... welcome to SRP!!!
There is a horizontal scroll bar at the bottom of the registration page frame that should have allowed you to scroll over to see the entire security scramble... perhaps you missed it? Or, did it not work for you? Regardless, there is a problem with the layout of that page.

Thanked: 131Hi Joe
Thanks for your kind welcome. I don't know if its maybe browser specific- I use Mozilla Firefox. I know sometimes there can be conflicts if its only design in Netscape or Internet Explorer. Either way its just a scripting problem. The important thing is people can still register elsewhere.
Looking forward to reading the (many, many, MANY!) posts which reach my inbox every day.
