Thanked: 335Can we push our own buttons? I seem to do it so well with others that I probably should try myself on myself to see how it is to walk in my own shoes.

Thanked: 1587While I don't have any major, major issues with it, I would just like to point out that most people who join SRP are people who think outside the box, and are a little different to the mainstream. After all, we'd all be discussing Mach 3s or electric shavers if this were not true. We think for ourselves and we form our own opinions.
The reputation and thanks system can be seen as an enhancement and feedback system. But it can also be seen as a form of control that encourages homogenisation. None of us are stupid - we know what sort of post will illicit favourable responses to boost our reputation.
I think if we are careful with our usage of this system we can avoid turning into the straight razor Borg. But we need to be aware of it's control aspect in order to do so.

Thanked: 1212I agree with Jimbo. No major objections, but not something I was waiting for.
I also don't see the connection with Sidneykidney's call for a +1 button.
But even so, I appreciate every effort the moderators make to improve the functionality of the forums, so cheers to you guys.
Bart.

Well, you can add and subtract reputation by using the scales, which is what dave thought was meant with the +1 -1 discussion.
Personally I am of the opinion that by participating in the community, people will soon enough find out who is who. And if people can't be bothered to spend enough time here....... I am not going to write it out, but I think you get my point
But regardless. It is here, and we will see how it will be used.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.

I pushed the reputation button on one of the members of a thread and this is what appeared written in a box: You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to XXXXXX again. Am I stupid or... I don't get it...
