SRP member of the month
I think that some of the guys of this forum go way beond "duty", when it comes to answering questions and helping other people.I am aware of how the rep/thanks system works, but I think that some guys deserves a little extra credit. Therefore I would suggest creating some sort of SRP member of the month thing. My thought would be that other members would nominate those that has made the most helpful effort.I would suggest that the nominates would be placed in a poll, where members could vote for the winner at the end of a month. And a sticky thread that would show all the winners, and mabe the winner would be awarded a SRP symbol or something along with their little green dots, besides of the honour and glory
I have no idea how much work would be recuired from the mods/adm to make something like this work.
Or if you guys would like/permit the suggestion.I just tought it could be a nice contribution to our little comunity. For those that really deserve the extra credit.

If we were to include mods and admins I'd have to encourage honouring David Wessell as the first recipient for the mountains of work he has done for the site and me personally over the years.
I don't know if we need to do this, but I'm not against it at all.

Oh yeah, I do. It would be fun to have it on the SRP Homepage. Even like an employee of the month sign. Ha! That would be funny.

Thanked: 1587I think it is a good idea. Not sure how you would create a criteria and judge it, but in principle I am behind it. And maybe not just MoM (Member of the Month). How about other categories? Resto of the month? Newbie questioner of the month? Etc. Use it to encourage participation - get people in the various categories out and into the open?
But perhaps that *is* too much work. But yes, I like the idea of MoM.
My vote goes to either: Glen for his seemingly endless reserves in helping people and answering questions; Dave for his tireless adminning on all of our behalves; Robin for his remorseless pursuit of Wiki perfection (and tireless efforts in that area); or Lee for the same (Wiki).
Seriously, I would not like to have to judge it each month.

Thanked: 1587Just thinking about it a bit more, I think it would be something best just simply announced by the mods each month, rather than open for debate among members. That kind of thing could get real messy real quick.
In fact, even if it is just announced each month by the mods, the choice could raise potential debates too I imagine. And really they are not the kind of debates we want here.
Just putting that out there - not sure if I would be right or not.

Why do you think there would be such a debate about it? After all we are grown ups, and it would not have any political or religious aspects.(wich seems to be the topics stirring up things here.) And since the mods often would be among the most likely to be nominated, it might be better with a vote.Like a list of people in a poll, plain and simple.
