    I have a question: what is the preferred naming convention for "&Son|&Sons|&Soehne" etc.?

    Currently, the form depends on individual contributor's preference:
    * Eicker H. &Söhne "Heartring-Stosser 90"
    * Wostenholm & Son, George "Celebrated IXL Razor" 5/8
    * Rodgers, Joseph & Sons "Cutlers To Their Majesties" small 5/8 wedge

    I tend to like the last form best; and I prefer having a space between ampersand and surrounding words with the exception of cases when they are never separated, like in the case of Wade&Butcher.

    What do you think?

    New question: How to refer to the Henkel's chart? Now you find:

    a. VIII;
    b. H.VIII (as I did);
    c. Henckel VIII;
    d. other.

    The roman number could be enough, since it isn't used for anything else.

    I say, let us kill the Henckels chart, and go for variations of hollow, plus wedge. And make that a pull down menu, lest people get overly creative in the description of hollowness (yes, I can already see "badass extreme full hollow, and then some").

    ..yes: the use of two diferent sistems at the same time is very bad! But what about a standard scale: wedge, 1/4 hollow.. etc.. otherwise it will be impossible to use this field when searching (you will find too many different descriptions..)

    Reading I found this. Is it really a frameback? (I was quite surprised, but probably it is just because of my little experience). In this case I think that a very simple drawing (instead of the Henckel chart) could help me to decide between, for instance, frameback and faux frameback or quite similar grinds.

    I agree, a simple drawing would be nice. And a frameback is a frame for a back (I believe) like the one marked "Swedish" in this example:

    The razor you linked to is one I would call a full hollow even though I guess it is a faux frameback and that the above chart refers to as a rattler grind - it seems hard to draw a good line between even these general possible grind classifications
