I voted no because RAD costs me too much money as it is.

    I vote NO..

I always vote no for charging for the "extras" in a forum...the charging seems to creep into main aspects of the forum before too long.

I enjoy SRP and really appreciate the work, energy and $ that goes into making this community hum

Wouldn't it be EXCITING to see SRP have all the "extras" for free. Certainly would make this site LEAP out to folks (which is not necessarily a good thing.

I support the "bake sales" that help with $.
Thank youse guys for a wonderful community.

Yes, it would. If only hosting on a beefy server were cheap, and we didn't need to actually pay for software.

Bruno, I do understand that there Is no free lunch...
    Everything costs

This new forum software seems to be top shelf and managed by top shelf folk.

I see both sides of the debate, but have to agree with TOB9595. Straight Razor Place is something special, and if charging 'for extras' starts to creep in,. it's the thin end of the wedge.

I wouldn't mind a monthly raffle for a prize where members could buy a chance of winning a prize every month by making a paypal donation, but would still not like to see this compulsory.

I hope SRP goes on in its present form. To change makes it a commecial venture and I think it would be changing things for the worse. Once something is commercial, the commercialism always takes precedence over anything else.

Thanks for the overwhelming interest (as judged by the votes).

Now that things have calmed down again, I can finally make an over view of the different features that were proposed, and then figure out a way to pay for them. My first idea was a subscription model, but if we can manage through a fundraiser (In Belgium we'd say: a waffle sale ) , that would be an option too.

Anyway, I will work on this the next couple of days and get back to you all.

Would couples get a reduced rate??

While I don't need another email address and I'm not too fond of blogging I would like to support the forum regardless. The idea of a Waffle/Bake sale as a fundraiser also sounds good.
