At the end of the fore mentioned long thread where it was proposed that a seller mail one example of a shave ready razor to an appointed judge the consensus was that there was no point in pursuing it.

It is assumed that we on SRP are gentlemen and men of our word. Again it is just my impression but I think that it was left that a seller guarantees satisfaction or your money back less shipping unless the description was so erroneous that shipping should be included.

Now to play the devil's advocate, I'm in support of the "new" policy but it isn't the first time it has been used. A couple of months ago a fellow with 1 post living in Perth, Australia put a Robert Williams S30V with celluloid abalone scales in the classifieds. I PMed a question. Within the hour the mods pulled the ad since the seller was asking a princely sum and had basically no posting history. An intelligent and correct decision IMO.

The seller received my PM and replied. After some correspondence and after looking at his Aus ebay feedback I purchased the razor ( not on ebay but privately) and received it in the condition described. Say this to say that not everyone who places an ad who has a short posting history is a scammer but OTOH you can't be too careful.

Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

All this postage for something I considered to be in play already.

If youse guys think there is something amiss with a seller or sale.
    By ALL means pull it.

"Shave ready" can be a VERY ambiguous term. Let the buyer/seller work things out.
I don't believe there should be judging by a jury...
I think the term SHAVE READY should mean...just that...You can shave with it..Varying deegrees perhaps....By then the buyer has read much info here and takes a stab at stropping...
The first razor I stropped I took the edge off...MY BAD!
People have to accept life's limitations without a watchdog agency always the fall guy...
    Thank you
    Tom
