Classifieds policy change
As of today, we reserve the right to pull ads to protect the reputation of SRP and new buyers. If the articles do not match the description, or if we receive complaints about 'shave ready' etc, we pull the ad and contact the seller.
We do this because if bad stuff happens in our classifieds, it reflects badly on SRP.Last edited by Bruno; 05-11-2009 at 01:42 PM.

I agree that people should have some degree of certainty on a shave site.
This isn't ebay and I applaud this move.

Well, isn't too late at that point, it seems your saying that the article is already sold, what's the point in pulling the add then, please explain...Unless of course you mean pulling the "Sold" add. It still seems pointless. I fully agree BTW, I have had my share of bad experiences, IE.....I bought a chipped blade listed as "Shave Ready" It was sold to be by an X member. It other words, he was getting rid of all his stuff. In this instance, There's nothing you can do. Lynn was nice enough to fix for me free of charge.
Thank you Lynn....Also, Shave Ready is a relative term. What is Shave Ready to Lynn, or someone that's been shaving with str8's for years and years, may not be so to a newbie, no offense intended to our new members, All I'm saying is, someone may not possess the skill needed to make a "Shave Ready" Determination, like Shave Ready Tests, Will you have some kind of "Shave Ready" board to decide for them, The Seller, that is?Last edited by zib; 05-10-2009 at 05:04 PM.

Thanked: 156Why not have all razors advertised as "not shave ready" until the seller is reviewed by a team member?

No, this means current ads. If the moderators have serious concerns about the items in the ads. For example in your case it wouldn't be very good situation if that seller is allowed to continue selling chipped razors as 'shave-ready'. The new policy allows moderators to remove such ads.
This by no means guarantees that everything that is being offered in the classifieds will meet or exceed the expectations of the buyer, of course. But if member starts selling Zee-pk or Master USA razors the moderators can remove these based on the current consensus that they can not hold a sharp edge to last a shave.

Thanked: 3795I think in previous discussions it was considered impractical to create a committee of shave readiness evaluations. At least with this new policy, the moderators can take action if they receive complaints about a seller in order to correct/prevent subsequent listings.
