I'm happy to hear that you've gotten one or more. I don't know what they are but under the 30x they look very similar to an Escher. As far as performance, I haven't decided yet. Good but I'm not ready to say it is or isn't as good. Needs more experimentation which will be forthcoming. I'm anxious to hear if you know their origins.
I PMed David Wessel and asked about a sub forum in Hones for the club but I haven't heard back in the past two days. Either he is busy or the request isn't worthy of a reply.Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanked: 416Guys have you considered starting them as threads while you are waiting this is how the Razors clubs began and then if the members support the clubs we can gather them up and put them in a sub forum. Just a suggestion based on how the other clubs began.

Thanked: 402We're trying, Pyment! But I guess we'll be calling it "Frankonian" though.
Now lets see which threads can do for the new sub forum.

Thanked: 1903Naaa, is niä wohr...
Not to spoil your hone party, but as indicated previously, there just might be a database for those hones in the Wiki shortly. Now, there obviously is not too much of a story to tell about Nortons, but for natural stones, articles like these seem more useful than a number of threads in a sub forum: Belgian Hones - Straight Razor Place Wiki. YMMV, of course, but please consider the advantages of having knowledge in one, easily accessible place (read: Wiki) - as opposed to news and discussions, for which forums were initially invented.

Robin, just because I am a HADdict doesn't mean I think more is better. But in this case it is. I am all for a data base on hones in the Wiki and I for one will contribute to it when time permits but that doesn't preclude a sub forum for hone freaks either. The SRP Wiki razor data base doesn't supersede the razor clubs sub forum. To some of us a rectangular slab of sedimentary rock is as beautiful as a mint Goldedge.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
