Thread: Defeat the Tweet!

I hate twitter on priciple. Just like face book, it's an application for people to upload lots of information without actually saying anything worth listening to.

I'm just toolazy to get rid of it

I'm running Mozilla Firefox with NoScript seen here. I partially allow java through the NoScript. When someone posts a utube video or whatever I have to "temporarily allow all this page" to see it. When I do that the tweet thing appears on the left of my screen.

I hold the cursor over it and right click. A menu appears and NoScript is one of the options. I left click on that and then click on "forbid Tweeter" or whatever it's called. It disappears again.

For those of us using a slimmer browser than Firefox (say Chrome or Opera) it isn't so easy to get rid of... at least, I don't know how.

Beyond that, Twitter is a disgusting example of how insipid and shallow we've become...what on earth is worth saying that can be accurately and effectively communicated in 140 characters or less?

Further, why should I go to Twitter for 'more razor chatter'? All the razor information I ever could need is here, on SRP forums or chat. All this does is give Twitter a few more pagehits on the advertisements, and annoy the *(&@^ out of otherwise faithful SRP members like myself.

Can we PLEASE get rid of it? It's a terrible idea...
