    Default Thanks as feedback

    I've been wondering why some relatively new members, whom I rarely see posting, have quite high thanks counts. I finally figured it out today because I did something I hardly ever do--I looked in the Shave Of The Day section. It turns out that lots of posts in there routinely get 20 or more thanks.

    This is just an observation, not a complaint, that the thanks count is about as helpful as the former reputation marks.
