Thread: How NOT to create an ad

Of course we can't vouch that every single detail is correct. We never implied it was. And we can't vouch for shavereadiness either. You know that. Do you enjoy this wordsmithing?

We just ask that people be honest here. And if there are ads like this that are so blatantly obvious lies, we pull them because we don't want that sort of behavior and we can actually see that the seller is full of it. It does not mean we judge each ad in detail. But I have a word for people who try to sell crap like this with descriptions like that: Scum.

And if you feel that we should let things like this slide or we should guarantee every single statement and assessment, then I say again that you are free to leave.

that's the second time you've let me know that I am free to leave the forum so I think you might be misinterpreting my posts.

I think that this is a very good thing that your team is evaluating the ads for accuracy and using your own expertise to clean out junk. I am confident that you examine all ads this closely as it alleviates me as a newbie from having to rely soley on my own judgement.

I hope you don't take it personally that I disagree with your assessment of this as being fraudulent.

The blades are pretty well shot, but the scales and parts are still usefull (If true)
I guess you could practice some restoration tehniques on the blades, that is your choice...

But if you have some blades that need scales. this lot might be for you...

This is exactly how i was thinking too. Still i wouldn't pay that price even for those scales all together but that is not the question here.

However i agree that Bruno is right with this. Selling these razors as restoreable is ridiculous. It is hard to believe anyone could take this ad seriously (but i'm sure there are people who do).
This is a good and useful topic. There are many of such razors for sale in eBay, but i wouldn't want to see such ads here in SRP.

What so there is no such thing as personal responsibility? Why not do what most of us did if you have a question send a PM to one of the restorers here for their opinion. Why are you being so antagonistic to people who are willing to help others along in the journey of straight shaving? Just drop it

ummm....apologies to the Mod....I wasn't trying to be antagonistic....

errr....I think I was making the same point as you. My thanks to this site that can help newbies not have to rely on their own expertise....did I miss something?
