Thanked: 220Out of curiosity, what exactly does being a ''Banned User'' entail? I've noticed lots of Banned User's still active & posting. Does the moniker stay with the person?

When a person is banned it is for breaking the rules we all agree to when we register with SRP. In some cases it is a temporary ban as a punitive measure. In really egregious cases it is permanent. Of course any and all spammers are permanently banned.
The reason you may see banned user under a persons screen name is that we don't delete their posts. Unless of course the post contains vulgarity, profanity or some content that is not suitable for a family forum which is what SRP is. So if you see that under a screen name it is an old post from before they were banned.

Thanked: 1263Just my opinion here, but I think some people are being quite worrysome..it's pretty simple really, this is a "gentlemens forum" which basically means mind your manners and don't purposefully try and tick anyone off. Follow the "golden rule" and you'll be fine..again, very simple.

< banned user > ???
I had a wee slip last year (fingers before brain lol). The mods gave me ample opportunity to explain myself and were super kind about it. IMO someone would have to work really hard to get banned!

You only see one part, and other people have brought up this topic before.
Some people appear helpful or knowledgeable in public, yet behave very rudely in PM.
Or they play kind and helpful in public, and then run off with people's razors and money. I've had one very visible senior member tell me in public how I 'wronged' another such 'valuable' member, where said member actually stole several thousand dollars worth of razors and money from a group of members.
Members have been banned before, and then came back and became mentors and moderators or developers. Being banned has nothing to do with being likeable or agreeable or having the same opinion.
Just because someone is knowledgeable doesn't mean they don't do rude or dishonest things that warrant banning.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.
