Thread: Other types

Some of us use DEs for various purposes... Josh's wife shaves her legs with one. Some use them for travelling. Others use them when they're in a rush. Some even use them just for the hell of it. I personally don't but I did convert a buddy from fusion to feather DE as he was too afraid to go straight. When I get sick I actually use my electric for shaving. If we had a multimethod forum for other methods, we'd have an outlet to come out of the closet without going elsewhere. In any case we do have a Mascara, Nail Polish and Hair irons" forum. It's called SOTD

First and foremost, it's great to see Richz up and about and posting again. The site bandwidth has been suffering without our number one .


Now, to get on-topic... I doubt we'll come to full agreement on this.

For my $.02, I follow other forums and see no need to distract from their focus by covering those topics here (except in an occasional sense). We have to overlap to some degree -- after all, preps, soaps, brushes, mugs, etc. are pretty common to all (wet) shaving methodologies. And, within the context of str8 shaving, sometimes there is a need to compare/contrast with DE's, cartridge and injector razors, etc. But I don't personally feel a great need for SRP to have "distinct" forum dedicated to discussing those alternative razors... the General or Off Topic forums can cover that in my mind.

Bottom line... I'm ambivalent... I'll support whatever is decided...

With me it's like a comfort thing. This place feels like home, so I am thinking of adding additional little comforts all the time. On one occasion I got some SE information on SMF that I would not have been able to get here easily and that got me thinking about being able to find DE information here that I would not have been able to find there as easily. I just want to make this place the best it can be, with one stipulation: As long as we're all comfortable with it. I don't want to be ramming anything down anyone's throat.
