Thanked: 4Osma Labs soap
I'm thinking about trying this soap out, but heard something disturbing while looking for threads on it, heard that this soap with alum in it could be bad for you Str8s edge. Does anyone know is there is any truth to this or is it total myth?
Thanks
Greg

Bump back to the top.
This is an interesting question. I hope someone can help out on this...

Yes, edhewitt mentioned watch out for the alum, and he's right of course. But, as with any standard care of a razor, you make sure you properly rinse the blade off, wipe with tissue, and store dry and properly.
For this very reason, first time I tried the soap (awesome!), I used my Dovo Best Quality (first straight I got), and did the exact same routine I have of cleaning it off, etc...went back and looked at it later, and it was fine. Several blades and shaves later, not a problem.

Phrank,
Thanks. This may answer more than a few nagging question some soapophile's had.
Note-You've gotta post your description of the stuff for other novice-soap heads out there like me.
Cheers,
