Thanked: 32Cyril make two sort of soap. One with the classic and light sent. And the second (that he created after to have had the feed back of the coupe chou club member and another straight razor shaving forum) with a stronger sent.
For the price you can count around 44 usd shipping cost included for the 200g of soap and the stainless tin. (direct from Cyril).
He is out of stock for the tin now but he can supply easily the soap without the tin. (the soap is easy to put in any tin or bowl you have )
Cyril is trying to find a saler on the other side of the atlantic in order to reduce the cost of shipping for the US

Incidentally, gentlemen, Jason at Jason's Shaving tells me he expects a small supply of the soap in the next couple weeks.

I received my PL soap yesterday and took it for a spin today. In short, this stuff is the bomb. It lathers very easily and the volume of lather is beyond ample. The lather is thick and dense and can take a lot of water. Its also really slick. But the question everyone will want to know is how it stacks up against MDC. Is it better? Maybe. I mean you're splitting hairs here at this point (no pun intended). Its like asking if a Ferrari is better than a Lamborghini. At this level of quality, personal preference casts the deciding votes. The scent is slightly different from MDC, perhaps a little minty but you're in the same neighborhood. The lather is just as generous as MDC but its different in that its heavier. Maybe I short changed it on the water but it didn't seem to stand up like a whipped cream the way MDC often does. But I also found it to be more protective than MDC. There was some serious cushion here. It also seems to leave MY skin a little more hydrated than MDC but after only one use, its hard to say for sure. If you DON'T already have MDC and wondered what the fuss was all about, you might give this stuff a try. The shipping on MDC may have scared you off but this stuff can be had from US vendors. In fact, I see that there is an option to buy just the soap at razorbladesandmore.com for $15.99. It seems to me to be the same league with MDC, Xpec, and Penhaligons. Each of these soaps is different from one another but they represent the cream of the crop in my opinion. I feel Pere Lucien fits into this group as well. Is it better than MDC? You'll have to decide for yourself. But I doubt you'll be disappointed.

Thanked: 284Well I took this soap for two test drives so far. I got the regular "intense" scent in the 100 g stainless steel tub.
First of all the scent is really refreshing and seems to last for me just a little bit longer than others. That just may be cause it's new. I think it'll die down a little after a while.
The first shave I didn't have the water quite right and thus the lather wasn't great. I adjusted for the second shave and had a really nice lather, cushion and glide.
I'll give some more time to perfect the lather, but for now this definitely goes to the front for frequent use soaps. I think I still give MdC top performance, but this is a good soap.I love living in the past...
