Just got two pucks today. Great thick cushiony slick lather. Lathers better than some of my $30 soaps... Great bargain IMHO! Scents are nice but not strong at all very very mild. Odd shaped puck though I need mug solutions. I started another thread for that subject in another section.

I recently received a sample from Green Mountain as part of a participating test of their new seasonal soap called "Nick's Red Jacket. I have used it three times and can report to you that this is one very nice soap that lathers extremely easy. It is not very hard nor very soft but just right for building lather with either a boar, badger or anything in between. Great cushion and lubrication which means my razor glided with no problems. Loaded with tallow, olive oil and many other essentials this soap smells like the Holidays. Very refreshing to some it up.

I have my GM in a regular shave mug. I cover it with a bit of hot water to soften it and use a brush to use either face or bowl lathering. A chip of it stuck into a scuttle also works very well!
The soap will expand if kept damp til it fill half of a shave mug.

Thanks! I'll look into mugs. I know it's crazy but I don't have any shave mugs. What are some of your favorites?

Get a large old fashioned cafe / truck stop coffee cup. or find a soup cup that you can use as a bowl. A "real" shave mug is only a collectors' item. I do have a few and prefer a 1890's style with a larger base than its rim and good depth. Go to ebay and search for shaving mugs. Then start hunting your lo\cal antique stores till you find one that suits you for what you consider a fair price.
Here is my old, fire surviving, coffee mug:

I bought a puck of GM directly from them without the $20 minimum and they even refunded excess shipping charges. Got the lime scent. Lathers almost a s well as MWF (my favorite). It's in a small ramekin I got at Goodwill (bag of 6 of them for $1.99). Love the depression on top for putting a few drops of hot water in to soften while I shower. Loaded my brush and had almost instantly useable lather in my scuttle. Great cushion, especially since I shaved today with my neutral feeling frameback that normally gives no feeling back, Today it spoke a little.

It is my favorite soap. I just grated it and pressed it into a tin I got off Amazon. I do this with almost all my soaps unless they are soft enough to press in without grating.

I get great lather out of this soap. I typically put the soap under the tap before I take a shower so it can soften up. Add a sufficient amount of water and you're there, no sweat ! My favourite scents are Lime-Vetiver and Nick's Red Jacket (get it while it's there !!). I haven't tried the Lavender-Grapefruit variety yet, the other scents are not my thing.

In my opinion it lathers better than MWF soap.
