Airportcopper,
I tried it and was quite disappointed, especially after all the praise on Straight Razor Magazine. The lather was mediocre. So was the cushion. After several days of using it with different brushes I gave up and sent it to the shower.

Works well enough for me and I like the scents available. For the buck, it suits me fine. I cannot afford nor do I wish to pay for the really high end soaps available to the well heeled. All I've noticed is that it is water hungry throughout the the lathering process and once that is done it shaves very nicely and leaves a final cleanup cushion for a pass with just a wet hand to lube my face for the final cleanup of the little misses.

Obie knows his soaps and creams and I have made purchase decisions based on his reviews. I kinda gotta go with Geezer on this one, I like it too. The puck is an unusual shape but once it softens up it produces plenty of lather. I have the Balsam and Cheaha.
GM had a $20.00 min, don’t know if that is still in effect. I usually let it soak for a minute then start whomping up a batch. On the hard soaps I let the excess spill into my heated scuttle. Then you have nice heated lather for the entire shave. Works for me.

SRD and others carry it so you can buy some other things along with it to reduce shipping % if you wish.
