Hi folks!
As Colleen hinted, I've been out of commission for a while. I broke my arm snowboarding, and was laid up in a hospital for about ten days. I fractured the radius and the ulna in my right forearm, and they had to operate on the arm and put in plates and screws. Due to swelling they couldn't close the incision, so they had to do a skin graft. No more ski trips for me!
I'm back home now, feeling okay if a bit slowed down by the busted limb. A few clarifications on Colleen's introduction:
Tall dark & handsome is probably an exaggeration, but hey, judge for yourself:
I graduated in Spring 2007 from UC Santa Cruz with an art degree. I'm in my first year at Parsons school for Design in Manhattan, and am pretty well-versed with Photoshop, Illustrator and other fancy graphics programs. I like making pretty pictures! I am indeed going on spring break this coming weekend, so I'll have plenty of time to hash out some label designs.
Colleen, the flat bottle looks real classy, I love it! I'll try to do some variations on the mock-ups you posted.

Rich, you oughtta see the pictures! Apparently somebody literally lost her lunch looking at them (granted, she has chronic queasiness related to other medical conditions...but still).
I'm recovering well, getting quite a bit of mobility out of the hand despite the fractures. Certainly enough to sit in a chair and do design work.
Speaking of which, here's a quick mock-up from Colleen's basic ideas.
I'm experimenting with a slew of typefaces, after which we can think about ornamentation (though it may not need it).

Some more ideas
A few more quick mock-ups, still just playing with typefaces:
Your feedback is welcome.

I like the one that looks like Old English Number 5, I think. But they are all nice.

Oh yes.....they are all very nice, good work Noam! I just love seeing these different colors and type lettering, and if I knew how to do such things on the computer I can see where I would sit here all day and play with design aspects. I think you are headed for a really cool career!
From a design perspective "as a whole" because the AS will be white ( sorry....no matter what I do....AS is gonna be whitish color) and the cap will be black, I would like to see you to bring more black into the label, the banding around the logo could certainly be a coppery gold, but I think you'll find that the label will have more "pop" and come together as a whole with a little more black.
WoW...this is alot of fun! I await further examples, with great anticipation!

Just a thought... will there be a label on the back (to list ingredients, etc.). If so, you might want to mock that up too? The AS is white, so when the bottle is full the AS will block the rear label from showing through. However, when the bottle is half empty, what will it look like? Might it be useful to mock that up? It might influence the background color of the front label and the size/positioning of the rear label.
