Well I am not sure. Crabtree & Evelyn Nomad aftershave balm goes for $25 and that is the most I will pay for any after shave product and remember C&E is a well known brand. You might need to charge less until you have a following on it.

That's what makes this place interesting. Different people different stages in life.
This makes me think you will need a marketing strategy. Who is your target market? I mean for some guys $25 or $30 might be the bottom end of their range while it is the top for me. You will need to think this through as where to advertise the after shave. A cheaper product could go by word of mouth or a free site, where a pricer product might need a note worth start.
Hey I am rambling, just some thoughts.
P.S. Remember I am on vicadin right now.. I had knee surgery last Wednesday so I might be shooting out of my hat..

Ah! the joys of vicadin. About 6 years ago I herniated 3 discs in my back and was on vicadin for a number of months. Deffintely takes the edge off the pain. If you really want to fly, try drinking a beer with one. I did accidently (forgot I had taken a vicadin before going out to dinner, luckly I was with friends) and have no recollection of what happened after. I'm told I had a great time.

Rich, isn't it WE that need to think through the marketing strategy... remember this is the SRP private AS... only for sale to SRP members.
From the beginning, we've had the target of Colleen developing an AS for US that had supreme attributes for skin conditioning and an above average scent.
Based on the comments from the the past couple rounds, it sounded to me that the skin conditioning formulation is in the ball park now... does everyone agree, or have I missed something? Don't let me put words in anyones mouth...if you don't feel we're there yet, speak up! Otherwise, if you also feel we've got a good product conditioning-wise, then any additional changes that affect these soothing and conditioning attributes are just gilding the lily, so to speak.
The other decision is do we have a scent that a fair number of people will like? People are extremely different in this regard... what smells great on one person is horrible on another becasue of their own skin chemistry... so one size will never fit all in the scent department. But some are a lot more widely used than others... like bay rum, old spice, etc. in the low-cost arena. We'll never compete there with a private AS since they make the stuff by the thousands of gallons and they have no skin conditioning attributes to speak of... so their cost is basically alcohol and packaging. We should be able to compete in the 2nd tier arena however... the $20-$40 price range... the common scents you find in the walmart, kmart, target, etc... ie, things like halston, grey flannel, royal copenhagen, stetson, etc. If you go to the top tier... like the stuff sold in better department stores and sephora, they're almost all above $40.

I'm certainly satisfied as far as performance goes.
And on a different note:
Slightly darker logo, half-empty bottle. This typeface seems to be a winner, yes?
Bear in mind that the logo is fully tweakable. I did a black/silver/red variation a while ago, I think it looks pretty wicked:

That does look pretty good to me.

Good Evening Gentlemen,
I am not receiving any notices that people are posting.....not anywhere, and then I did receive one notice (this morning) for someone who had posted over on "Colleen's Soap" but when I went to look I couldn't find the post
I am sorry for my absence I had no idea y'all were carryin on without me!!! Nor have I read the previous posts cuz I'm in a hurry......
I'm checking in. This has not been a good week for me. Dweyne wrecked his truck on Tuesday, no license....no insurance.........Magistrates office, fines....the whole 9 yards.........and I have fired my webmaster person..
......and some creep was harrassing Prashanna as she was walking to my house to come to work and she was scared and called me to come and get her. She was smart enough to go into a store to get away from the man... I was so freakin that I could've spit nails, and I wish he would've still been there and we could'a called the police, but he was gone.
I just wanted to say I'm running behind

Good Evening Gentlemen!
Rich thank you for your kind words. The interesting thing is that y'all have the inside track on some of this terrible mess at home, and have watched me morph from being forlorn, what am I gonna do, depressed.....to ....guess what!
Seems like everyone around me right now is staying about ten feet clear and apologizing while they're backing up, because I have been "whippin ass" and take names..... I feel GOOD ....hell, actually I feel great.
OK, I had a chance to read back over everyone's posts. Wopman I had no idea you were single! This must be why you disappear from time to tome....lol.
RichZ, holy cow! what did you do to your knee ? ....an old injury and just in for your 50,000 mile pit stop ? or is it new ?
All of you have made fair and reasonable comments concerning the price of the AS. I can promise you that if I tried to sell that locally, the men wouldn't have any problem telling me "to my face" that I was plum outta my mind.
However, it depends somewhat on the individual, their income, their age, where they live, if they're in college, retired, working, single.....8 kids and another on the way...LOL. There are many factors that come in to play here, for me personally ......as long as I am somewhere in the middle of the road I think it will be just fine.
I also know that If I took the same AS out to Glade Springs http://www.gladesprings.com/ or The Greenbrier http://www.greenbrier.com ( and if they had a chance to try it.....and liked it ) for them.....that is nothing. Their wives pay $80 dollars a week to have a new look to their pedicure.
That said.....take my Dad for instance. Now even though he doesn't shave, but if he did, and he could certainly afford to buy a bottle of nice AS at $24.99 "every now and then".....but would he ? Not on your life, and not even from me.....
Well shoot! do you see the time! I have to go finish up dinner, but I'll be back in the morning with the rest of my thoughts and ideas on this matter.
