Never had a bayrum soap but it does smell warm and spicy so I guess that is it and it is pleasant. Neither are over bearing in the scent department and lather easily. Yea, I was a little leery of the pine tar too. I think you will likely get a free sample too.

    Bob,
Patiently awaiting for my Fitjar, and a free sample is always welcome.

    To the OP,

Good selection. MWF and Martin de Candre are my all time favorite soaps. MdC is a little pricey, but worth it And a jar of it will last forever...

Guess what showed up in the mail this afternoon? Fitjar Fjellheim shave soap and AS Balm with a sample of Slatteroy. Both scents are excellent although I think I like the Slatteroy a tad more. Haven't had the chance to try it, it'll have to wait until tomorrow.

I've tried a bunch, and so far my 3 favorites are Pre de Provence, DR Harris Arlington and Taylor of Old Bond Street Sandalwood...no particular order, although at the moment I've made DR Harris my everyday choice.
