Thanked: 0Which (puck-style) soap should I try next?
I've started with the regular Williams soap that is available at CVS and I also have the Art of Shaving's soap (sandalwood). I want to try some more, but I don't know where to start. I've tried to compile a list of shaving goods brands — which ones are "definitely try" and "definitely avoid"?
Here's my list—
30 Degree
Acca Kappa
American Crew
Art of Shaving
Bath House
Classic
Colonel Conk
Czech and Speake
De Vergulde Hand
Dr. Dittmar
D. R. Harris
Edwin Jagger
Floris
Geo F. Trumper
Gold Dachs
Haslinger
Imperial
Jack Black
Kent
Kiehl's
Klar
Lee's Razors
Mitchell's Wool Fat
Muhle
Musgo Real
Osma
Penhaligons
Pils
Portland General Store
Proraso
RazoRock
RoyalShave
Savon à Barbe
Scottish Fine Soaps
Tabac
Taylor of Old Bond Street
Tcheon Fung Sing
Truefitt and Hill

+1 for Stirling Soaps. They are great and easy to lather. I've got like 6 and I still can't choose a favorite. Queen Charlotte Soaps are really nice too.

Thanked: 1263You've left out Martin de Candre which IMO is THE best soap out there..lathers like no other and easily. Second on my list would be Penhaligons

+1 on Martin de Candre, not a puck, but it's tops. Czech & Speake is an excellent soap also. Tabac is really good and one of my favorites too. My top three !!

Howard

Thanked: 375Tried these myself so far all are good performing soaps
D. R. Harris (not a sandalwood fan here) I have a slightly used puck of Marlborough and the AS and colonge, I need to find this one a new home
Haslinger (first soap I tried, I need to get this one again but I don't remember it performnig badly at all)
Musgo Real (soapy clean scent white/green metal tube decent performance probably won't get again)
Portland General Store (mild earthy scent, lathers great probably won't get again skin irritation)
Proraso (any flavor you get here would probably perform excellent) I've only tried the the green and red (not a fan of the red....sandalwood scent)
RazoRock (fresco clean soapy scent. watermint, good performer)
Tabac (found this one a new home, great scent but strong. ouststanding perfprmance otherwise)Last edited by Trimmy72; 12-17-2013 at 03:39 AM.

Thanked: 0Wow, thanks for all the responses! Maybe I should take the ones that have been recommended by someone above and put them in a poll?

My recommendations is not based on own experience. It's based on others recommendations, the ones I would like to try myself in other words.
MWF, MDC, Fitjar, Dr Harris, Yardley, Tabac, Cella. And that's just the start, I'd like to try all soaps
